This print is part of the Love Nature More exhibition. To read about the show
The early morning sun's rays were already warming the stubble of the fallow field and a sudden twittering filled the air. Then, as if from nowhere, two swallows came zooming towards us like tiny jet planes at knee-height, yellow beaks gaping wide. They veered up and away then came racing back to continue their feast on the insects buzzing over the old field.
* Bird lovers note: swallows migrate from South Africa and Namibia, a distance of 6000 miles to feed on aerial insects in the UK. They return to Africa in the autumn.
